Whisky & Castles in The Highlands of Scotland
Two of the Highlands of Scotland's indelible symbols have to be - castles and whisky. Because Scotland is also a land that is long on heritage – of clans and castles and fine malt whiskies. A heritage which is gloriously displayed in Inverness and the surrounding area.
Everyone will tell you that there's something enigmatic about Scotland that lingers in the soul long after you have left. We are not quite sure how to explain this, but are pretty certain that whisky and castles simply have to feature in the memories of many.
Famed throughout the world for its malt whiskies and castles - there are nearly as many Scotch Whisky distilleries in Scotland as Scottish Castles. You can easily create a lively discussion by declaring which is best, preferably over one of the said ‘waters of life’ in one of the area’s many well stocked ‘whisky bars’.
And you don’t have to go far here. Great and famous castles virtually on the doorstep. And the stunning Malt Whisky trail and Grampian castle trail not far away either.
